================================================================================ LULLABY 384 AUDIO TRANSPORT - PROJECT TERMS AND LICENSING Copyright (c) 2026 DacHobbyLab ================================================================================ 1. HARDWARE DESIGN LICENSE (PCB, Schematics, BOM) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The physical hardware design files for the Lullaby 384 audio transport, including but not limited to the 2-layer PCB Gerber files, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM), are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution- NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). By using, downloading, or replicating these hardware files, you agree to the following conditions: - Attribution: You must give appropriate credit to "DacHobbyLab / Pavel Daleuski" and provide a link to the original project website (dachobbylab.com). - NonCommercial: You may not use these hardware design files for any commercial purposes, manufacturing for sale, or mass production. - Personal DIY Use: You are fully permitted to manufacture, assemble, and use the hardware for personal, private, and non-commercial DIY purposes. For inquiries regarding commercial licensing or production rights, please contact the author directly. 2. EVALUATION FIRMWARE LICENSE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The pre-compiled Evaluation Firmware provided in this repository (distributed in .hex or .bin formats) is free to download and flash onto self-assembled Lullaby 384 boards for evaluation purposes. - Audio Formats: Limited strictly to standard PCM rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz (16/24/32-bit depth). DSD and DoP formats are entirely disabled. - Protection: The evaluation firmware is distributed as a pre-compiled binary without source code access and is optimized to protect proprietary logic. 3. FULL PERFORMANCE COMMERCIAL FIRMWARE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Full Performance Firmware - which unlocks up to PCM 768 kHz, DoP256, and future updates up to DSD512 Native - is proprietary software and is NOT open-source. - Distribution: The Full Performance Firmware comes strictly pre-installed on fully assembled and verified modules. Due to logistics, these complete commercial modules can only be purchased physically and in person directly from the author in Minsk, Belarus. - Hardware-Locking (UID): Each instance of the Full Performance Firmware is cryptographically locked to the individual microcontroller's factory-burnt STM32 Unique ID (UID). It will not execute if cloned or flashed onto another chip. - Readout Protection: The firmware is protected using hardware-level Readout Protection (RDP Level 1) to prevent illegal extraction or copying. - Firmware Updates: Future firmware updates (including upcoming DSD512 Native support) are provided completely free of charge to existing owners. Until a remote update server infrastructure is deployed, all firmware updates must be performed physically and in person by bringing the hardware module directly to the author in Minsk. 4. THIRD-PARTY DEVELOPMENTS (Custom Firmware & Drivers) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Independent developers, engineers, and audiophiles are encouraged to experiment with the Lullaby 384 hardware platform under the following conditions: - Custom Code & Drivers: You are permitted to develop alternative firmware (bare-metal or RTOS-based) or custom host drivers (such as Windows ASIO or Linux/macOS low-level drivers) to expand the hardware's functionality. - MCU Compatibility: While the reference design targets the STM32H750VBT6, third-party developments may adapt or port code to other compatible STM32H7 microcontrollers, including the STM32H7A3, STM32H7B0, and STM32H743 series. - Mandatory Attribution: All derivative software, third-party firmware, and custom drivers built for this hardware MUST include a prominent credit notice in the repository readme, documentation, and source code headers: "Developed for the Lullaby 384 hardware platform by DacHobbyLab (dachobbylab.com)" - Commercial Clarification: Writing custom firmware or drivers does NOT grant any commercial rights to manufacture, copy, or sell the physical PCB hardware design protected under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license. - USB VID/PID Usage: DacHobbyLab has officially acquired and assigned a unique, licensed USB Vendor ID and Product ID pair (VID: 0x16D0, PID: 0x153B) via MSC. Independent developers are fully permitted to use this specific VID/PID pair strictly for creating and distributing custom host-side drivers (such as Windows ASIO or Linux/macOS configurations) dedicated to the Lullaby 384 hardware. - USB VID/PID Restrictions: You may NOT use this VID/PID pair for any other hardware projects, third-party commercial products, or modified derivative PCB designs without explicit written authorization. Unauthorized use of this VID/PID pair on non-DacHobbyLab hardware breaks the sub-licensing agreement. ================================================================================ For official information, contact details, and project updates, please visit: https://dachobbylab.com ================================================================================
